Overview
Background
The Upload a SDS compliant Dataset feature is best used by users who already have their data organized according to the Sparc Dataset Structure (SDS). For users with unstructured data or those who need assistance in organizing their datasets, we recommend using the Prepare Dataset Step-by-Step feature.
All datasets SODA helps curate must follow the top level SPARC folder structure imposed by the
SPARC Dataset Structure. This top level folder structure is shown in the figure below. Additionally, every dataset must have a manifest file that describes their contents. If your data organization doesn't follow this structure inherently, or lacks a manifest file, you can use the Prepare Dataset Step-by-Step to structure your dataset according to the SDS guidelines.

On the first page you have the option to Start uploading data to a new or existing dataset or Continue an existing dataset in progress. To begin uploading a new dataset, click the top button.
